@fishsticks27 This is the math group. Do you have a math question?

myininaya (myininaya):

By the Welcome to OpenStudy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following points lie in the solution set to the following system of inequalities? y x - 5 y -x - 4 (1, 10) (-1, 10) (10, 1) (1, -10)

myininaya (myininaya):

First, you will need inequality signs in your inequalities

myininaya (myininaya):

Then after you figure that out You should just be able to plug in your choices and see which satisfy the system

myininaya (myininaya):

You know see which is true

myininaya (myininaya):

For example if we had the system of inequalities: y<x-3 y>-x+5 And you wanted to see if (-4,3) was a solution to this system You just plug it into both inequalities and if both inequalities hold true then that point is an ordered pair that belongs to the solution set So we have x=-4.y=3 Plug in -4 for x and 3 for y like this 3<-4-3 3<-7 not true So we don't even need to check the other inequality to see if it is true or not The order pair (-4,3) does not belong to system of inequalities I gave

which ordered pair does not satisfy the system 2x + y > 0 and -2x - y > -8?
