Bus A averages 40 kilometers per gallon of fuel. Bus B averages 50 kilometers per gallon of fuel. If the price of fuel is $3 per gallon, how much less would an 800-kilometer trip cost for Bus B than for Bus A? A)$18 B)$16 C)$14 D)$12 E)$10

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

in 800 km trip..Bus A would consume 800/40 = 20 gallons of fuel in 800 km trip Bus B would consume 800/50 = 16 gallons of fuel it's $3 per gallon so Bus A would spend 20 x 3 = $60 Bus B would spend 16 x 3 = $48 what is the difference of 60 - 48?
