"to finish first, first you must finish first". Wat does this quote mean?

You cannot come in first place until you have first finished the competition. So, if you want to win, you need to concentrate on getting the task done before the glory of victory.

I think it means, in my personal opinion, to have the end envisioned in 'your' mind, so you theoretically have already "finished" first, in 'your' mind, before 'you' have even have begun. Anyways, yeah, basically similar to Benjammin's. :)
