how do you solve for x , using rational expressions, to find values that are undefined ?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

you look at the denominator..

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

for example you have \[\frac{x+1}{x+2}\] look at the denominator the denominator is x + 2 equate this to 0 then solve for x x + 2 = 0 x = -2 there fore when x = -2 the expression is undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you ,but what if you have some thing like : 3x+4 over 2xto the 3rd power - 24x-60?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

then you have to factor it out then solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do I do that ?
