What is the vertex of the following graph?
i got (1,3) AM I CORRECT?
I guess, it's (1,4) simply by looking at the graph.
@ujjwal thanks. can you explain for me please.. thanks
there's not much to explain. Look at the graph. The tip part is the vertex.
@ujjwal ooohh i get it. how do u find the focus?
can you locate the directrix in the graph and find distance between directrix and vertex?
@ujjwal whats the directrix
i must say you need to toil more. the straight line is the directrix.
@ujjwal ok. i see it
@ujjwal (1,4)
the distance between vertex and directrix is equal to distance between focus and vertex for a parabola. and the focus lies on axis of parabola. Axis of parabola is the line passing through vertex and perpendicular to the directrix. Now you should be able to locate focus. If you haven't even heard these terms ever before, this question is strictly not for you.
@ujjwal thanks i got it!!!!!!!!! thanks for the help
wc. :)
