Can someone please check my answer please? The picture below shows a right triangle shaped charging stand for a gaming system. Which expression shows the length of side AB? I used cos, and set up the equation 8cos(60. im not sure what answer choice this is. POSSIBLE ANSWERS: 8 cosec 60° 8/sin60 8/cos60 8 tan 60

OpenStudy (hang254):

@zepp can you check my answer please

OpenStudy (zepp):

This is Hypotenuse/Adjacent too, secant.

OpenStudy (zepp):

Umm, no secant so cosine then :D Cos(60)=8/AB AB=8/cos(60)

OpenStudy (hang254):

i just edited the answers^^

OpenStudy (zepp):

That's right, \(\large \frac{8}{\cos(60)}\)

OpenStudy (hang254):

so 8 cosec 60?

OpenStudy (hang254):

oh, nvm i just saw it

OpenStudy (hang254):

thank you!

OpenStudy (zepp):

cosec is reciprocal of sin

OpenStudy (zepp):

If you want to write it in the other format, it would be \(8\sec(60)\)

OpenStudy (hang254):

ok, thank you. i always get cosec confused with cos

OpenStudy (zepp):

Since \(\large \frac{1}{\cos(x)}=\sec(x)\)

OpenStudy (hang254):

but the answer is 8/cos60, correct?

OpenStudy (zepp):

Correct.

OpenStudy (hang254):

thank you :)
