Explain, in complete sentences, how you would factor 2x^8 + 44x^4 + 242. Provide the factors.

2x^8 + 44x^4 + 242 Firstly, find the common factors. (which is 2) 2(x^8) + 2(22x^4) + 2(121) Next, group the common factors together. 2 (x^8 + 22x^4 +121) Now, see if you can further factorise the equation. ( we can for the x^8 and 22x^4, their common factors are x^4 ) 2 (( x^4(x^4) + x^4(1)) +121) 2 (( x^4 (x^4 + 1)) + 121) We can't further factorise the equation. Therefore, that is the answer.
