Which statement best compares the method of constructing a pair of parallel lines with the method of constructing a pair of perpendicular lines? A.Both require the construction of congruent angles. B.Both require the construction of angle bisectors. C.Both use the straightedge to measure the length of the arcs. D.Both use the compass to draw arcs from points.
A i think
Are you familiar with geometric constructions? I'm pretty sure you don't measure with a straight edge when doing geometric constructions, so you can eliminate "c." When doing constructions, you can only use a pencil, a straight edge, and a compass. You can't measure with a ruler. To find the answer, choose the most obvious thing you can do with those tools. What do you think?
well, assuming you use the same line of reference for the slope of the two parallel/perpendicular lines, then I believe the answer is "A"
As I recall, constructing a pair of perpendicular lines doesn't involve constructing congruent angles, unlike the construction of parallel lines. They both definitely involve drawing arcs from points.
