Would someone be kind enough to explain the "Engagement" score and how to increase it? Its the only one of mine that I can't seem to change...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure that the engagement score has to do with asking questions. For example, if you don't ask too many questions and mainly help, you're engagement score won't change much at all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well that stinks. I'm here to answer questions, not ask them...

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@Benjammin honestly not everyone with high engagement scores are asking questions they need. what i mean is..look at @amistre64 he has 88 engagement but he's one of the smartest people here. some of his questions are not really questions but posts and notes on proving thingies and when he asks..it will be about proofs..my point being even the smartest people can have high engagement score. and not all people with high engagement score are askers. another good example is a user with a very long name who i cannot pronounce but has 98 engagement. he achieved this by asking educational questions that are interesting. and he is also interested in his questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've only asked 128 questions and answered 921 so and my engagement is 70 so it's can't just be that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My engagement is 65 and I've asked 83/answered 1347. I think how I stated it works though.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

well it' also the days studied...that's a factor too

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

There are a few factors that I know of. Asking questions definitely helps out. I believe that when you use the chat it increases as well (not by much). I think for the most part however, it's by interacting with other users in a polite and mature manner. I don't know any of this for sure though, so don't assume everything I say is correct.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i believe messaging increases engagement too...that or teamwork...

OpenStudy (preetha):

Engagement is demonstrated by activity on the site, time spent, asking and answering, chats (to some extent), medals and all that.

OpenStudy (theviper):

@Benjammin if u ask questions u increases ur Engagement but slowly & if u got medals in asking ques than it increases fastly:)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

actually i think if you engage in your question then it increases quickly

Thanks everyone for your replies! This has helped me understand a bit more about this part of the SmartScore.
