any ideas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

She spends a total of $6 and buys 300/4 + 300/6 pencils

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How many total pencils does she buy firstly tell me..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she buys 125?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And now how much she spent on these total pencils?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

$6 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think we are going wrong..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide $3.00 by .04 to get 75 pencils and divide $3.00 by .06 to get 50 pencils. So she bought a total of 125 pencils and paid $6.00. Just divide to get the average price per pencil.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would u do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Answer is not coming right.. I am also going through the same method..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide 600 cents ($6.00) by 125 (the number of pencils.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4.8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bingo!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i understand thanks
