So here i go with a question of Friction : Please see attachment

mathslover (mathslover):

Here is it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope this helps you at least to start: \[\tan \alpha = \mu \]

mathslover (mathslover):

sorry i didn't understand that clearly .. can u help me more clearly ? @Kryten

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you given friction coeficient?

mathslover (mathslover):

yes it is u

mathslover (mathslover):

Coefficient of static friction --> u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the value is?

mathslover (mathslover):

it is not given :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the expression for F as : F = ma + mgsin(alpha) + umgcos(alpha) so for minimum F, our acceleration a should be minimum, right?

mathslover (mathslover):

this was the answer given :( @Vaidehi09 can u show the process please ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe this helps you cause now i really have to go and finish my paper... http://farside.ph.utexas.edu/teaching/301/lectures/node49.html
