@footballkidd12 first of all welcome to openstudy Like terms are those terms which have common variable and common power ( of variable) : here like terms are -2x and 6x since they have common variable x and common power 1 ( of variable x) and 8 and 9 , 8 --> 8(x)^0 and 9(x)^0 .. since they have common variable x and common power of variable of x --> 0
