2x + y = 5 x − 2y = 10 y = 5 − 2x x − 2(5 − 2x) = 10 x + 10 + 4x = 10 5x + 10 = 10 5x = 0 x = 0 2(0) + y = 5 y = 5 Did i do this correctly?

OpenStudy (callisto):

Nope, not really. For the step ''x + 10 + 4x = 10'', it should be x -10 + 4x. since -2(5) = -10

So i didnt distribute correctly?

OpenStudy (callisto):

I'm sorry but you didn't distribute correctly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thanks!

OpenStudy (callisto):

Welcome. Since you've got that step wrong, the rest are incorrect too.. So, just start solving x from that step. Good luck :)
