simplify th expreession (3x^4/2y^3)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(3x^4/2y^3)^2\] That squared outside the parentheses means that every single term inside the parentheses is being squared. So, the 3 is squared, making it 9, the x^4 is squared, making it x^6 Collectively, the top has now become \[(9x^6)\] Now the bottom, the 2 is squared, making it 4 the y^3 is squared, making it y^5 Collectively, the bottom has now become \[(4y^5)\] So overall, it looks like \[(9x^6)/(4y^5)\]. Complete. :)
