I need a clarification - my assignment as written is too vague.  If I am to paraphrase a long newspaper article, do I paraphrase paragraph by paragraph and not change the structure; or do I read it, restructure it, write it in my own words and then cite the author?

Paragraph by paragraph.  Keep the events in the order in which they happened, but use your own words to explain them.
