The process of tissue decomposition by bacteria in a dead body results in a. algor mortis (cooling of the body) b. rigor mortis (stiffening) c. or bloating Would the answer be c because of the bacteria in the pancreas?

OpenStudy (goformit100):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

algor mortis = physical state cooling off from 98.6\(^o\) rigor mortis = chemical change where calcium ions diffuse and bind with troponin, which in turn causes myosin and actin proteins to cross-link and get stuck bloating = physical effects of having a body in a hypotonic solution (i.e.: ever seen a dead body in freshwater?), OR some other lifeform eating concentrated food (the dead tissue) and making excess waste (bacteria and/or maggots will do this kind of bloating). There is more than on cause of bloating of a dead body, but yes. :-)

OpenStudy (ledah):

Lol I took biomedical science so I know this too.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

a. algor mortis (cooling of the body)
