Lets start at 12:00 for B A is there at 9:20 Because 2/3rds of an hour is 40 minutes (1/3 is 20 minutes) C has their appointment 12:50 because 1/6th of an hour is 10 minutes, so 5/6ths is 50 minutes. From this you can see the time from (A)9:20 to (C)12:50 is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
