A house was originally worth $95,000 but increased in value to $110,000 after 5 years. What is the ratio of the amount by which the house's value was increased to the house's original value 5 years earlier?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you have to find the difference in the new value vs the old value. Take that number, place it in the numerator of the fraction. Then take the new value of the house and put it in the denominator, and voila, you have your ratio.

old value of the house** i.e. 110,000-95,000/95,000

what about the 5 years? how does the formula look like?
