1. What does it mean when scientists say that living organisms share a universal genetic code?

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Think about each part of "universal genetic code". Universal generally means that it is a characteristic that is shared by all and a code is something that is used to "represent" something or in this case, form something. What does genetic mean to you? (tell me what you think and we can work on this question) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What kind of genetic code do all organisms share? (Hint: it's double-stranded.) ;)
