The graphs of equation 3x + 4y =-2 and 3x +2y=-4 are : a.) Same line b.) Two intersecting lines which are not parallel c.) two perpendicular lines

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

the answer's B. because the slopes are not parallel nor perpendicular

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show how you found that?

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

i isolated y for each equation so.. y=-3x/4-1/2 and y=-3x/2-2 and the slopes are -3/4 and -3/2 to be perpendicular you have to flip them and add a negative but this isn't the case and to be parallel the slopes need to equal each other but because they are different they are not parallel

Oh wow now it all seems so simple. Thank you.

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

np:)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

B
