Parth (parthkohli):

If anyone wants to ask me what the \(\mathbf{\LaTeX}\) symbol for something is, you may ask.

OpenStudy (across):

I legitimately would like to know what the \(\LaTeX\) command for the counter-clockwise contour integral symbol is (if it even exists). The closest that I have come thus far, without needing to resort to obscure commands hidden well within the recondite \(\LaTeX\) archives, has been the often ambiguous contour integral symbol\[\oint\] which does not cut it for me. However, the closest that I have come to it by means of naïve manipulations has been through the abusive concatenation of similar symbols:\[\mathop{\int\mkern-20.8mu \circlearrowleft}\]That looks pretty bad, nevertheless. :)

Parth (parthkohli):

Draw it down, please?

OpenStudy (across):

Right! It looks something like this (I'll try to steady my hand as best as I can):|dw:1341581517629:dw|

Parth (parthkohli):

I had memorised all of those(almost), but it's a shame how I am shamelessly going to the LaTeX symbol library to search this one. >.<

Parth (parthkohli):

All right, I found it. Unfortunately — The \(\LaTeX\) on this site is restricted. We find that symbol in the package called 'esint'. \(\varointctrclockwise\). See how it doesn't work here?

Parth (parthkohli):

The site does not work with external packages. I see how my LaTeX editor renders that very well.

OpenStudy (across):

Yes! I've also noticed OS is very limited with these things. I just went over to M.SE to test this, and I'm having trouble invoking the esint package. I tried using the \usepackage{esint} command, but it didn't work. And don't worry about that. :) I often don't have a clue what I'm doing with LaTeX at all! Thanks for your help.

Parth (parthkohli):

M.SE <.< How are you even able to look at that site?

OpenStudy (across):

I often don't have a clue what some people in there are asking, especially the measure theory aficionados, but the place itself is rather comforting nevertheless. :) I hope that doesn't turn me into some sort of socially awkward character, haha!´ß

Parth (parthkohli):

If you are an MITian, and you have problems there, then you might want to look at what a helpless twelve-year-old feels on that site. :P
