Alcoholic fermentation A: forms fewer ATP molecules than cellular respiration B: uses oxygen and ATP molecules as reactants C: occurs in the muscle cells of animals and humans D: gives off carbon dioxide and NADH as products

@TranceNova

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

The answer is D. gives off carbon dioxide and NADH as products

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??????

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

yup, it should be right

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Hmm my memory of this isn't the greatest - however it is my understanding that aerobic respiration (like alcoholic respiration) gives off less energy (ATP) than aerobic respiration. I don't think its gives off NADH as it is used again in the cycle, but I'm not entirely sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx anyways

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Actually after a bit of digging its looks like it must be D as there is no extra ATP produced.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

I take that back lol - sorry to be confusing (I'm pretty sleepy) - yes, cellular respiration does give more ATP, have a look at the attached picture. Anyway, good thing to note as well that it isn't the policy of Open Study to just give answers, please try to explain the question/help the person find the answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thx
