Find sqrt(-27+36i).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I found that this is, more simply, 3sqrt(-3+4i); yet, I cannot get the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Put: \[\sqrt{-27 + 36i } = x+iy\] Now, square both the sides..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the x+iy a guess of how the form of the answer will be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Complex number can be in this form.. Square root of a complex number will also be complex.. So, I let that is (x + iy) Now take square both the sides..

Thank you.
