jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

How would we move that -5 over?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its confusing

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

On the left side, we're multiplying by -5, so how do we undo this?

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

-5|x+1|=-15 =|x+1|=-15/-5 =x+1=3 =x=3-1=2 So, by putting the value of x in the equation as |x+1|=-15 =|2+1|=-15=> 3 is nt equal to -15. so, the answer is false.

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

no, sorry the answer is true becoz by solving the eq. i gt |x+1|=3.
