Are you giving us a choice, or do you mean which is *best* for programming robotic systems? When I did my robotics class in college, we used a language called EasyC, which is really just a subset of C. I also know that Lisp is used a lot in artificial intelligence programming.

Well there is no best language. It all depends on the platform. But Arduino and PIC C are rather market leaders.
