Your friend tells you they think it would be cool to have band practice on the moon. Is it possible to hear the band play on the moon? Why or why not?

Here on Earth, sound waves travel through the air, and the vibrations are carried by the molecules that make up the air. There's no air on the moon. And sound cannot travel through space. Forget any Star Wars or Star Trek movies you've seen. All those loud explosions cannot happen in outer space, because there is no air. I wish I knew how to elaborate.
