I feel we need a search function to help reduce repeat topics, agree/disagree? (pardon if this has been asked before)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Granted Google often references a specific question if it's worded the same here, but it just seems like there are sometimes a great deal of repeats, like all those Ecological Backlash questions in Biology a few weeks ago

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A search function would definitely be useful.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol It has been asked before. I asked and I think others have asked. It's "not a priority right now". I'll go try to find my post about it and link it here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sry, I can't exactly search to see if it's been asked before. This topic was created prior to this one: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/4ff8e00ce4b058f8b7634dad (yes I read that too)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is so much to read though, agent. Do you have notes? haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol you know what? Nevermind. I'm a boss, I'll go read that whole freaking thing. Right now. :D Be back tomorrow c;

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

agent, This is our general deal with search: Our focus, as a site, is on the here and now tutoring. There are plenty of resources that are archives. We want to be a live help resource. This is one of the major reasons I have not pushed for us to prioritize search because I think that that aspect of our site is what sets us apart. That said, we have played with this idea and it may surface eventually. We've done some preliminary research and implementation as well. So, you never know what's around the horizon.

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

Personally, I'd like to see us get a legit iOS app before search. ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@farmdawgnation, I 100% agree with iOS app > search. Furthermore, iOS app (both iPhone and iPad) > Android app > search. You guys definitely need to tap that market. I would be worried, though, about the quality of questions posted from iPhones and Android devices...
