Can some one explain me the concept of two sided limit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two sided limit means the limit approachs some specific value either at the right or at the left. lim F(x)as x

OpenStudy (across):

Here's a simple example: let\[f(x)=\begin{cases} -1 & \text{ if } x\leq0 \\ 1 & \text{ if } x>0 \end{cases}.\] Then,\[\lim_{x\to0^+}f(x)=1,\]and\[\lim_{x\to0^-}f(x)=-1.\]
