Write the equation of the line and draw the graph of the line through each pair of points given. Use either the slope-intercept equation or by using x- and y-intercepts >>(3, 5) and (3, 8)

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Do you know how to write the slope of the line given two points?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i do not..

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Ok. That would be a good starting point. :) lemmie draw a picture...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome :)

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Did that help? Sometimes it helps to see more than one example, this is a case where the slope is undefined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a little..i dont know if you saw my last post but im suppose to plot the points and draw a line through the given points then write the equation..

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Right, second picture coming up...

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Let me know if this makes sense. Sorry for my awful handwriting. :-p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool..so the equation is just x=3..no more work to be done the the problem?

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Yuppers. Slope = undefined , y intercept = doesn't exist. (because it's a straight line up and down that never intesects the y axis. It's just "x = 3".

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aaah thank you so much mathteacher! =)

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

You're welcome! :)
