Factors of \[2(a+b)^2-9(a+b)-5\]are???

OpenStudy (theviper):

@waterineyes @satellite73 @lgbasallote :)

@KingGeorge @Hero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Firstly you should open the brackets..

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

First, let's expand it out. \[2(a+b)^2-9(a+b)-5=2a^2+4ab+2b^2-9a-9b-5\]

OpenStudy (theviper):

k then @KingGeorge :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No go by simpler one I think.. Put: \[(a+b) = x\] \[2x^2 - 9x - 5 = 2x^2 - 10x + x - 5 = 2x(x-5) + 1(x-5) = (2x+1)(x-5)\] Replace x now with (a + b)..

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

Much better idea.

OpenStudy (theviper):

k thanx @waterineyes & @KingGeorge :)
