I'm doing an activity on a pyramid with a square base. Can someone please help me with this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

List the number of faces, vertices, and edges of the polyhedron. Describe their relationship to the two-dimensional base polygon.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... how many faces of a square based pyramid..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

how many edges and vertices

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 edges. and 5 vertices

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so the square base has 4 vertices and 4 edges... and 1 vertex to form the pyramid and you double the number of edges. Also for polyhedra there is Eulers Formula Faces + vertices = edges + 2 5 + 5 = 8 + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that for the part where they ask to describe the relationship?
