Why does light move with the speed of light?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because photons have zero mass but have energy..you can find your answer if you read einsteins relativity and quantum mechanics(force carriers)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The speed of light can be calculated from Maxwell's equations.

Well... mathavraj, I thought the mass of light cannot be defined because it cannot be stopped. All that Einstein's relativity theory explains is that every constant movement is "relative" since the signal which should be light has speed(not infinite). What determines the rate, though, is Maxwell's equation.
