What does the letter A stand for, is it an even or odd number, what are some numbers P can stand for? Please explain why you think so. The drawing is below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AM+AM+AM+AM=PA

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Does this problem mean that "AM" is actually some 2 digit number? (say a = 2 , m = 5, then AM = 25)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Ah, k. So question for you -- how good are you at regular addition? Example, can you add 14 and 38 in your head without a calculator?

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

I ask because that's important to thinking about this problem. It's about numbers and how they add together.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I am good at that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the question is kind of confusing there are a lot of letters and numbers to use
