Determine whether the following series converge or diverge Sum (n^2+3n)/(3^n) n=1 to inf

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm thinking maybe I need to do a comparison test? and do a/3n but what would a be? since the numerator seem like it can go on to infinity. Or is there another test I should use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divergent i think n^2 is faster than 3^n, so taken to infinity there would be no finite answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm not getting that / don't understand.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

ratio test will work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 1/3 which is <1 so its abs convergent ! ? or am I wrong

OpenStudy (zarkon):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YAY! thanks! :-)

OpenStudy (zarkon):

no problem

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

or you can always do an integral test
