causes of biodiversity loss

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Many of these causes are human activities. One of them is deforestation. Deforestation forces the animals to find a new habitat, which may threaten their lives. The change of the environment also threatens biodiversity. Global warming and other climate changes force animals to adapt to new surroundings. The other one is overharvesting. Overharvesting is the term used when man restrict the habitats of animals. This is especially dangerous to those with low reproductive rates. Overfishing and killing animals may also lead to extinction.
