HELP PLEASE!!! Antonio has found that he can input statistical data into his computer at the rate of 2 data items faster each half hour he works. On Monday, he starts work at 9:00am, inputting at a rate of 3 data times per minute. At what rate will Antonio be inputting data into the computer by lunchtime (noon)? Show your work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this statement can be written in the form of a linear equation with 2 data items being added to the initial rate of work every half hour ... sice he is working from 9 am to noon ie for three hours that means he has worked for '6 half hours' and 2 data items increase every half hour so equaton can be let no of half hour worked = y let initial rate of work =x final rate = f then f= x + 2*y put your values in this equation and you will get your answer i hope it is helpful to you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so f=x+2y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes now just put your values in this equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but its 2 data faster for EVERY half hour worked?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes as i have also written that no of half hours worked in above problem is 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and that is why it is 2y other wise it would have been some other value of rate multiplied by number of half hours worked

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in you case x= 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got your answer??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm almost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but its asking the rate? so is it 15/min
