A decade ago most of us had never used the internet – now we can't imagine life without it. Actually, some of us can: there are 10 million people in the UK still without a connection.

I'm actually quite surprised that even so much as half the world use the Internet, I would have thought it would be much lower, because one quarter of the world's population doesn't even have electricity. The number of people worldwide who own computers is under 25% even by conservative estimates. I guess a lot of people must go online using cyber cafes or web phones.
