If N = {integers} and subset C = {integers divisible by 10}, what is C'? {integers except those divisible by 10} { } {10, 20, 30, 40, …} {integers}

OpenStudy (ash2326):

C'= elements which are not in C what do you think is the correct answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Honestly I have no clue, I've been working on this problem for like 30 mins.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Suppose I have a set A={ odd numbers} and my N={ whole no.s} then A'= elements which are not in A but are in N here odd numbers are in A there are odd as well as even numbers in N so A'= even no. s Do you get this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not even a little bit -.-

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Ok, I'll explain you using a diagram. Just wait a minute

OpenStudy (ash2326):

I'll explain you using my example N= { whole no.} like {0, 1, 2, 3 and so om} A= { odd no.s} i.e {1, 3, 5, 7} A is a subset of N, that is all the elements of A are also in N. Do you agree with this point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

good. I'll draw a diagram now

OpenStudy (ash2326):

|dw:1341850306609:dw| A is contained in N, since A is a subset of N Do you understand this?
