4x^4=12x^2

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need to find the roots idk wtf im doing im so stuck on this stupid test :'(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x^4-12x^2=0 now let's put x^2=t, so x^4=t^2 so the equation becomes: 4t^2 -12t=0 solving: 4t(t-3)=0 t=0 and t=3 for t=0 : x^2=0 x=0 double root for t=3: x^2=3 x=+-sqrt 3
