Is this how I would do this problem to find hortizonal, vertical etc? f(x)=x^2-x-2/2x^2-x-10 f(x)=(x+2)(x+1)/(x+2)(2x-5)?

for horizontal asymptotes, look at the degree of the numerator and compare it with the denominator. if they're the same, then the horizontal asymptote is the ratios of the the coefficients of the highest degree terms. your factorization of the numerator is incorrect... the denominator is ok which is ok for finding the vertical asymptotes.
