How about having forums for OS? I feel that a forums would be an easier way to monitor a conversation. Not only that but it allows users to ask questions about related subjects that sometimes might seem off subject. For example I want to refresh my memory in def eq but I need some advice on what book to get or how about what are some studying tips that users have. What do you guys think?
I think this would be easier than starting a new subject on a different topic and having users post about it. Let's keep OS a site for studying and have a forums for OS where we can talk freely about any subject that might relate to OS or academics.
@Callisto
lol @goformit don't tag mods in Feedback @Romero it sounds like it could be plausible I don't know what it would take to make it but it sounds pretty cool. My only thoughts, personally, is that a site about OS away from OS might actually be harder to moderate while trying to keep an eye on the activity over here and have the forums go off topic or just become inappropriate etc.
Becca makes some good points, Romero. We certainly wouldn't maintain this because it would be an additional moderation burden and it would take away from the focus of the company (which is on OpenStudy itself). We encourage you to use chat for off-topic conversation, but I don't see us developing a forum that exists alongside the main site. In my mind, it's a large increase in moderation and maintenance overhead for a marginal benefit. Thanks for the idea though! Keep 'em coming! :)
