Solve for y: ax + by = c

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

\[ax+by=c\] \[by = c-ax\] \[y=\frac{c-ax}{b}\]

mathslover (mathslover):

\[\huge{ax+by=c}\] \[\huge{ax-ax+by=c-ax}\]What i did is just subtracted both sides by ax \[\huge{by=c-ax}\] \[\huge{\frac{by}{b}=\frac{c-ax}{b}}\]

mathslover (mathslover):

what do you get now @Christian18m ?

mathslover (mathslover):

Dont forget that : \[\huge{a+b=c}\] \[\huge{a+b-b=c-b}\] \[\huge{a=c-b}\]also : \[\huge{ab=c}\] \[\huge{\frac{ab}{a}=\frac{c}{a}}\] \[\huge{b=\frac{c}{a}}\]

mathslover (mathslover):

Did you get it now ?@Christian18m
