The volume of a cylinder increased by 8 times the original volume. How many times greater are each of the dimensions of that new cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is anyone gonna help?!

OpenStudy (shane_b):

\[V_{cyl}=\pi r^2h\]If the radius is held the same, the h must go up by a factor of 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my choices are 2 3 4 8

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Sadly, the question doesn't say how the volume is being increased...by radius? by height?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

Or even both...which means there could be multiple answers.

OpenStudy (shane_b):

I'd go with 8 assuming that only the height is being changed...and 8 is an available answer.

ok thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know this was 2 years ago but you were wrong mate DX
