A city’s population is declining continuously at a rate of 6.1% each year. If the population of the city is currently 435,410, what will the population of the city be in 8 years?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do 6.1 times 8 then get that and subtract that percent from 435,410

I think i have to use the compound interst formula..

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i would love to approach this using geometric sequence haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 222,929.92 by doing 6.1% x 8 which equals 48.8% then i got 435,410 and subtracted 48.8% from it and got 222,929.92

Oh i see, thank you
