OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

@eliassaab why is that a function and {(0, 2), (1, -4), (1, -3), (3, 6)} NOT a function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because 1 has 2 images -4 and -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Every element in the domain must have one image in the range.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathteacher1729 did you understand my explanation?

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

@eliassaab I teach this stuff. :) When you are answering a student, make sure that *they* understand your answer. Otherwise you're just doing math problems for yourself (which is fun, but might not always be helpful to the person asking for help if they seek to understand why the answer is correct).

You seem to be a better teacher than me. Excellent.
