Consider the parent quadratic function f(x) = x2. The flight of a projectile can be modeled by a quadratic function. You can see this when you throw something in the air and it follows a parabolic path up and then back down to the ground. What would the various types of transformations (translation up, down, left, and right; reflection; horizontal stretch and compression; and vertical stretch and compression) mean to the quadratic equation of a projectile.
