Is there a significant difference between the latest release of Python 3.2.3 and the required release Python 2.5.4 for the intro to Python course?

I believe that the course specifically uses 2.5.4 in all documents and examples. From what I can tell there are some syntactic differences in python 3, which may confuse us as they are not consistent with the examples etc...
