i need to find the solutions to this equation? im so confused. x^3+2x^2-24x-144=0 i graphed the function and got 1 of the zeros at -80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u want to solve it by factoring?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh...she is offline

OpenStudy (theviper):

lool

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

looks factoring is tough

OpenStudy (radar):

(x-6) is one factor. Then use quadratic formula to solve the other two roots. There is no root at -80.

OpenStudy (theviper):

first factor 2x^2-24x-124

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use this \[x^3+2x^2-24x-144=x^3-216+2(x^2-12x+36)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide whole equation by x..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know all the factors i need to know the zeros. wen i graph it it untersects y at -80
