cannonical form or standard form is better for implementing boolean function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Canonical Forms is better to implement a boolean function. you can express any function by using both minterms and maxterms.

All Boolean expressions, regardless of their form, can be converted into either of two standard forms: the sum-of-products form or the product-ofsums form. The canonical forms of Boolean algebra are basic forms that one obtains from reading a function from the truth table. These forms are very seldom the ones with the least number of literals, because each minterm or maxterm must contain, by definition, all the variables either complemented or true form.Another way to express Boolean functions is in standard form. In this configuration, the terms that form the function may contain one, two, or any number of literals. .and the preference is given according to the boolean function given..and you must know where clearly it is applicable..
