OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

2401^(2n)=343^(n+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Get those two bases to be the same base first. 2401 and 343 are both powers of what? Then rewrite them with that base.

OpenStudy (rainbow_dash):

so 7^2n = 7^(n+2) now what do i do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2401^{2n} = 343^{n+2}\] \[7^{4(2n)} = 7^{3(n+2)}\] \[7^{(8n)} = 7^{(3n+6)}\] 8n = 3n + 6 8n - 3n = 6 5n = 6 n = 6/5

@fitzmaths...PLEASE don't just give answers. There's absolutely no incentive to learn if you do this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shandelman ok, i understand your point. @Rainbow_Dash hope it helped and that you can now do another problem by yourself
